Description: Focuses efforts on penetrating existing accounts, uncovering new accounts and developing new business within assigned industries for a premium luxury hotel. Has a proven track record of working with of third party meeting planners.

Essential Functions:

  • Sells and generates leads 100% of the time
  • Primary focus is selling the Surrey Hotel, must be adept at selling brand and cross-selling other cities as well.
  • Initiates research projects to uncover new potential markets, accounts, etc.
  • In depth knowledge of current web tools / marketing partners for the Group market.
  • Keeps current on property specific information on new competition, changes in the market-mix and needs.
  • Focuses on a variety of the following industries that can be tailored to the expertise of the seller.
  • Responsible for achieving/exceeding individual group revenue goals.
  • Travels 25%; attends appropriate trade shows, organizes sales trips.
  • Assists Director of Sales On Property in achieving hotel-specific goals from designated group industries.
  • Prepares and implements ad-hoc strategic activities in order to assist a specific hotel or destination during their need periods ie: low-occupancy, last-minute cancellations, refurbishments etc…
  • Incorporates marketing opportunities into sales activities when applicable.
  • Generates data, analyzes, and recommends actions on assigned industries in the form of quarterly action plans.
  • Turns over all service related tasks to CSM team and holds them accountable.
  • Is an active member in local industry associations, knows colleagues with same role in competitive brands – reports back industry trends to the field.
  • Communicates any product or service issues to Director of Sales On Property for immediate action with GM.
  • Attends property specific receptions
  • Prospects annual groups for repeat business
  • Works with catering team, credit managers and group services departments to create synergy
  • Fully penetrates accounts in effort to generate leads for transient team and DHG hotels in other cities

Experience and Qualifications:

  • On-property Sales Manager experience is required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years Sales Management experience is required.
  • Formal Sales experience in hotels a must • Exceptional negotiation and selling skills
  • Must be a true “sales-minded” individual; always looking for new business with a proven record of results
  • Must possess excellent communication both verbal and written and immediately follow up
  • Thorough knowledge of Delphi Property Management System a plus
  • Highly-motivated individual inspired to exceed industry and territory results through specific and tangible actions
  • Ability to work independently (Excellent time-management and organizational skills).
  • Applicants must be comfortable making sales presentations and have exceptional, dynamic and memorable public speaking skills.
  • Strong computer skills are a must to include: PPT, Excel and Word.
  • This position generally works Monday to Friday but the ability to work on occasional evenings and weekends is essential.
  • Ability to work within and manage a designated budget
