Description Opening in early 2017, The James West Hollywood-Sunset, ideally situated on the corner of Sunset and La Cienega, features stunning panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and Los Angeles basin. With welcoming social spaces and a casually sophisticated aesthetic, The James West Hollywood will be infused with local culture and liberated touches inspired by the community it will call home.

Position Summary:
Responsible for opening sales strategies and results for The James West Hollywood - Sunset. Assists in creating a clear and compelling vision for the hotel, understands market-mix, and aligns people, structures and systems to achieve strategic goals. Serves as liaison between entire sales division and General Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the hiring of all sales/catering positions
• Iatrical part of the Revenue team that decides positioning, rates and strategies
• Managing a sales catering/events team
• Could handle hotel specific accounts
• Manages the catering and events for a 10,000 sq. ft. property
• Works closely with the LAVCB, Visit WeHo, Chamber of Commerce to help promote the hotel
• Is knowledgeable of hotel specific competitive set, and recommends service, product improvements to stay competitive
• Is responsible for achieving overall rooms revenue budget for property
• Pulls and analyzes data; recommends appropriate actions
• Reviews shifts of market-mix with SVP S&M
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports and plans. Assists with forecasting
• Incorporates marketing actions into sales activities
• Works closely with National Sellers throughout the US on group
• Creates and monitors an “account-of-the month” program where applicable and in conjunction with the BT property and national sellers
• Reviews promotional rates and liaises with Revenue Managers for yielding possibilities and internet offers
• Attends quarterly financial review meetings
• Manages a Sales Coordinator, i.e., directs, coaches, listens, provides constructive and immediate feedback of job performance
• Performs any other related duties as directed by SVP Sales and Marketing

• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel
• Well-organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
• Thorough knowledge of Delphi Sales & Catering system; basic knowledge of CLS
• Must possess excellent communication externally and internally; and have immediate follow up skills, both written and verbal
• Able to convert vision into specific and tangible actions


Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the LA hotel market/clients

Desirable:
• Ten years hotel sales experience with a minimum of 3-5 years on-property as an DOSM or DOS
