Quality Assurance Technician 

For over 90 years, O'Neal has supplied carbon and alloy steel, stainless and aluminum products, and continuously expanded its processing capabilities. Functioning under the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician will ensure that only the highest quality of O'Neal Manufacturing products reach our customers and meet the company's quality standards.

This individual will support and drive Safety and Quality Objectives set by OMS, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager.  This individual must also possess a strong drive for continuous improvement through the application of lean principles and processes. 


  • Learn, apply, and promote the Vision, Mission, and Values of O’Neal Manufacturing Services.
  • Investigate customer related complaints and determine root cause with implementation of permanent corrective action.
  • Understand and implement quality gates to prevent defects from being passed to next process.
  • Performs daily In-Process Audits.
  • Participate on Kaizen teams as required.
  • Perform measurement inspections of parts with metrology equipment.
  • Run and program CMM inspection equipment using Polyworks software.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and blueprints with GD&T dimensioning and specifications.
  • Assists Engineering Team and Quality Team in developing or modifying inspection procedures and processes as needed.

Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of the position.



  • Three or more years of relevant quality experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Minimum of one year experience running or programming CMMs.


REQUIRED SKILLS: To qualify for consideration an applicant must possess some or all the following skills.  Possession of these skills is very important to the role.

  • Minimum of high school education.
  • Speak conversational English.
  • Physical requirements; sitting, crouching, kneeling reaching, standing, walking, and the handling of 50# or less.
  • Proficient operation of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Perform both visual and dimensional inspection of parts according to documented customer blueprints and drawings.
  • High level of proficiency with GD&T (Certificate or Training Preferred).
  • Prior operation of CMM (Preferably FARO).
  • Experience with the following:
    • PolyWorks Software.
    • GagePak Software.
    • JD Edwards Operating System.
    • First Article Inspections (FAI).
    • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
    • Control Plans (CP).
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
    • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Experience with welding inspection and creating of WPS’s preferred.
  • General understanding of ISO 9001:2015.
